Reporting to the Director of Software Development - HSIA, the Senior Software Developer is responsible for the design, development and documentation of innovative, best-in-class software products focused in a distributed cloud environment, for a SaaS offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with various development teams for project planning, scheduling, status and architecture.
  • Work closely with the Business Management and Customers to analyze requirements and generate functional and technical documentation for development.
  • Design implement and test cloud software services for scalability, performance and reliability.
  • Document solutions with a deep understanding of the interactions and dependencies of the platform and be able to communicate these with other team members.
  • Desire to own highly available critical cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide capacity planning, performance management and reporting to improve user experience and optimize resource allocation.
  • Make recommendations regarding the tools and technologies to facilitate the platforms development and maintenance.
  • Ability to mentor other software developers and provide technical vision.
  • Develop and maintain advanced working knowledge on Amazon Web Services (AWS SDK, RDS, EC2 and similar) technologies.
  • Actively pursue professional development and acquire new skills.



Mandatory Skills:

  • Experience with Amazon AWS platform, cloud products and solutions.
  • Experience with Docker and containerization
  • Proficient in Java technologies including, RESTful Webservices, Spring, Spring Boot and Java Persistence,
  • Experience with JavaScript UI Frameworks such as VueJS or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with scalable computer systems design and software architecture.
  • Experience with the principles of secure system design and best practices.
  • Experience with SQL databases and replication.
  • Proficient in a Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, IPSec and VLANs.
  • Experience building successful production software systems.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum software development.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with database clustering and replication across regional data centers.
  • Experience with RADIUS (AAA) and Free Radius.
  • Experience with Redis
  • Proficient using source code management systems and software life cycle management.

Education / Training:

  • University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.


  • 3+ years’ experience in a cloud environment
  • 7+ years’ experience in software development.
  • Or commensurate experience.
